Directions to Cherry Tank Moutain Bike Trails – Tucson, Arizona
TUCSON, Arizona – Mountain Biking – You’ll start with a singletrack branching off from the Middle Gate trail. The singletrack leads to the foothills of the Catalinas with rocky climbs before going down to the Cherry Tank. Be ready as the terrain will change slightly after you pass through dry creek crossing. It then winds along an exposed trail following the creek. You’ll be able to test your skills as the section is narrow, rocky, downward and tree lined. Take advantage of the trail as much as you can because after a mile or so you’ll find your way back into an all too familiar desert landscape with a stunning backdrop and into the Catalinas, down valleys and across Oro Valley to the west.
You can ride along an easier section of singletrack to Cherry Tank. From the tank it is all jeep roads to Charleau Gap Rd. Take note of the directions on your GPS because their are multiple roads branching off on the way down. Once you reach the Charleau Gap Rd, you have to make your way through and climbing the grueling 3+ miles to the Gap or turn your wheels downhill for a fast fun, technical in some places, jeep road descent. If you are at the Golder Ranch, go to Lago del Oro Parkway south to Golder Ranch Rd. Hang a left on Golder Ranch Rd and climb the hill back to the car.
