SAHUARITA – TUMACACORI CENTURY, Bike Arizona – The most popular GABA bicycle ride in Southern Arizona! Three options are available for riders from novice to very experienced cyclists: 30, 71 and 100 miles!
What makes this such a GREAT ride?
• It’s October in Tucson…perfect weather for a bicycle ride.
• With El Tour de Tucson a month away, it proves to be an excellent training ride.
• The route is a mixture of flat, rolling hills , and challenging climbs, all the while being very picturesque!
• Many cyclists record their best time for riding a century on this route!
• The route is well marked (just follow the GABA signs).
• SAG (food stops) are delicious and plentiful, served by cheerful & helpful volunteers!
• Sweep support is available along the route for tired cyclists and weary bikes.
• Bike Mechanic on hand for minor repairs and adjustments.
• Eegee’s lunch provided to all cyclists at the conclusion of the ride
All route options run south through the scenic Santa Cruz River Valley, Tubac and the Tumacamcori Mission, with varying distance options that will accommodate all levels of cyclists.
All options must check in at Sahuarita High School, 350 W. Sahuarita Rd. Take Exit 75 off I-19, approximately 15 miles south of Ajo Exit. Drive east on Sahuarita Rd to Sahaurita High School on the Left. Look for GABA signs leading you to the parking lot behind the school. Pick up route and rider instructions here.

NO MASS START:
Begin riding after you have checked in and picked up your ride instructions.
Long: 100 MILES. REGISTER AT 6:30-7 AM
Starts and ends at Sahuarita High School.Ride to Arivaca Junction SAG stop via a wake-up climb up Helmet Peak and Mission Road. From there proceed on to the
Short: 30 MILES. REGISTER AT 7:30-8:00 AM
After Checking in/Registering at Sahuarita High School, drive SOUTH to the Arivaca SAG stop at Arivaca Junction (start and finish point for this option); Exit 48 off I-19 , approximately 18 miles south of Rider check in/Registration. Start riding around 9:00 AM. Ride south past Tubac to the Tumacacori Mission. Additional mileage gained by riding south of the mission to some fresh pavement along the Santa Cruz. Ride maps and marked routes. Many helpful, friendly volunteers covering everything from SAG, Lunch & Sweep support to minor bike adjustments or flat tire assistance. Terrific sag stops with ice water, fruit, PB & J, various snacks and cookies; some of the greatest volunteers on any ride in Southern Arizona; PLUS Eegee’s subs and icy slushes, after the ride, from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
