PEORIA – PEDAL ROUTE OUT AND BACK, Bike Arizona –
This is an out and back ride, so riders can go at the pace they are comfortable with and turn back at any point before the actual turn-around point. There is climbing and some rocky areas, best suited for intermediate and up riders.
This will be an out and back ride (total 26 miles), we will be riding the first 13 miles of the Prickly Pedal mountain bike race, however, riders can go at the pace they are comfortable with and turn back at any point before the actual turn-around point. Plan on a three hour ride. This part of the trail has great views and vistas. The first half ends at the Cottonwood boat ramp, with a crossing over the floating bridge. This is not a technical ride but does have some climbs.
Trail head is located on 87th Ave:
8.4 miles west on Carefree Highway (74) from the McDonald’s located at the I-17 and Carefree Highway. Take a right onto 87th Ave and go 1.6 miles, the Maricopa trial crosses here.
